Congrats to Rebekah on her Off-Off Broadway Run of Frank Wedekind's "Spring's Awakening"!

Updated: Jan 27, 2019

From November 2nd - November 4th, Rebekah participated in this season's Off-Off Broadway production of Frank Wedekind's controversial and eye-opening play, "Spring's Awakening" at the Sonnet Theatre, located in The Producers' Club.

Directed by Cammerron Baits, this particular rendition of the piece highlighted the sexually-charged perils of a group of teenagers in 1890's Germany through physical theatre, American Sign Language, and immersive choreography. Rebekah played a tri-fold role in the production. She split her time between portraying Mrs. Bergmann, who tries desperately to protect her 14-year-old daughter Wendla from the harsh realities of the real world; Professor StickyTongue, a sympathetic and stutter-y teacher at the local boys' secondary school; and Uncle Probst, an old provost who shuns the town's youth for their curious and rebellious minds.

This production opened to positive reviews on Broadway.com, in which the author described the performances of the cast as "sincere" and "powerful." Rebekah is proud to have been a part of this inclusive and immersive experience!
