All About Rebekah D. Wilson

BIO

A native of Washington, DC, Rebekah has been working for over ten years as a professional actress, dancer, director, stage manager, instructor, and voiceover artist. She began her career as an aspiring dancer. Through volunteer work, Rebekah soon began her teaching career at thirteen years old. She taught as an assistant and head instructor in local dance studios around the Washington, DC Metropolitan Area.

After high school, she attended Howard University, and trained in its world-renowned Dance Program. But soon after, she discovered a new passion: Theater. She combined her loves of theatre and teaching, adapted her path, and developed her skills in the Theater Education Program at Howard. During her time there, Rebekah participated on-stage in university, community and regional productions, performing at The Lincoln Theater and Studio Theater. In May of 2012, Rebekah finished her studies at Howard by receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a concentration in Theatre Education.

Shortly after, Rebekah left DC to continue her education. In 2014, she received her Masters Degree in Educational Theatre at New York University. While attending, Rebekah participated on-stage and behind the scenes in Off-Broadway productions, including Spandex the Musical and in university productions, such as Salvation Road and A Raisin in the Sun.

As an instructor, Rebekah has worked with children and young adults in schools and institutions across the DC Metropolitan area and New York City in children’s theatre, after-school arts programs, and Theaters for Young Audiences through Teaching Artist partnerships, grants, and agencies.

While working as a Teaching Artist, Rebekah ventured into the world of Commercial Voiceover and Voice Acting through the Stella Adler School of Acting. Through Stella Adler, she continued her training with Abacus Entertainment, animation VO coach Everett Oliver, and  commercial VO coach Erik Sanchez. Through this training, she received representation in Commercial Voiceover with Voices Talent LA.

Currently, Rebekah is continuing her work as an Actress, Teaching Artist, and Voiceover Artist in the Greater NYC area. She knows that her work is never finished, and she hopes that her work will inspire many young artists for years to come.
